Discover the museum through a guided docent tour!
Docent Tours for All Ages
Trained volunteer docents lead your group through all four galleries, offering engaging discussion and fascinating insights into our rotating exhibitions and permanent collection. Along the way, you'll discover how works of art are acquired, the stories behind artists and pieces, and lesser-known details you might otherwise miss. You'll also learn about the museum's history, the scope of its permanent collection, and the people and ideas that have shaped it over the years. Tours typically last 45–60 minutes, depending on group size. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime supporter, a docent tour brings the art—and the museum itself—to life.
We also offer docent-led tours designed for young artists, where youth are encouraged to explore, discuss, and connect with works of art through interactive conversation and close observation.
