No Stress Sketching - Guided Practice

Can’t find the time and motivation to draw? Want to loosen up and discover the joy in sketching & drawing? This class is for you! We’re here for progress, not perfection!

This class will help build your confidence with low-stakes exercises and encourage mindfulness through the creative art process. Students will receive tailored feedback to support each student’s skill level and personal style.

Looking for Drawing Classes? Try the Intro to Charcoal & Graphite Class!

Students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbook/paper. Graphite pencils will be supplied. Students who don’t have supplies can use the materials provided during the class.

Still Life Study

  • Learn how to observe objects in real life and break complex forms into simple shapes and values.

Texture Practice - Mark Making

  • Practice mark making and texture using graphite and charcoal. Learn how different styles of lines and patterns, combined with shading, can create different textures and patterns like fabric, hair, or metal

High Five! Let’s Draw Hands

  • Hands can be tricky - take this beginner-friendly class and learn how to draw hands as you break down complex forms into simple shapes and values. If you’re interested in drawing people, the museum offers a live model open studio on Wednesdays!
