Introduction to Wet Felting

This class is beginner-friendly! Wet felt a space-inspired scene using a variety of fibers such as merino and Maori wool, bamboo top, and wool nepps. Discover the magic of wet felting process and explore some needle felting techniques while creating a vibrant galactic art piece. The finished size of the project will be approximately 7 to 8 inch square. Cost includes materials and use of all tools required to complete the project. Please bring a towel or two from home.

Artist Biography

Using felt as their medium, Laura Ricks crafts stunning landscapes that evoke a sense of wonder and tranquility inspired by her rural Indiana surroundings and occassionally by her travels. She loves to add needle felted and sewn details to many of her pieces, which gives them an extra level of definition, depth and drama.

Her exhibition in the Shook Gallery will be on display from June 15th, 2024 until October 6th, 2024.
