Intro to Handbuilding

In this introductory hand-building pottery class, you'll learn the fundamental techniques of shaping clay by hand to create unique, functional pieces. Through step-by-step instruction, you'll explore different handbuilding techniques while developing an understanding of clay properties and basic glazing. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on class offers a creative, relaxed environment to discover the joys of working with clay!

All new students can use our recycled clay. Intermediate students can purchase clay at https://www.artlafayette.org/classes/p/clay. Please bring a towel; all other tools and glazes are provided for 6 classes. Enrollment allows you to attend open studio (no instruction) on Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM.

Six Week Series | Saturdays | 10 AM - 1 PM

*Class will end 30 minutes early

Museum Members: $180 | Non-Members: $200
