Handbuilding Again! (Intermediate Handbuilding)

from $180.00

Ready to keep the momentum going? Handbuilding Again! is the perfect next step for students who have completed an introductory handbuilding class and are eager to expand their skills and creativity. In this class we’ll revisit foundational techniques—such as pinch, coil, and slab construction—while pushing them further to create more refined, intentional, and complex forms. Through guided projects and demonstrations, we’ll explore alternative approaches to surface design, structural integrity, and functional form. We’ll also work on building confidence in glazing, with opportunities to make more thoughtful choices about finish and decoration.

This class is ideal for those who want to strengthen their craftsmanship, develop their personal style, and continue enjoying the hands-on, relaxing process of working with clay in a supportive studio environment.

  • All students new to the Pottery Studio can use our recycled clay. Returning students purchase clay at https://www.artlafayette.org/classes/p/clay. All other tools and glazes are provided for 6 classes.

  • Please bring a towel and wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty!

  • Enrollment allows you to attend open studio (no instruction) on Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM.
