Paint, Carve, Sip: Create a Mishima-Style Tumbler

from $108.00

Design a tumbler that’s uniquely yours! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore a layered decorating technique using colorful underglazes and the Mishima-style inlay method. Each participant will receive a handmade, pre-thrown tumbler crafted by the instructor—so you can focus purely on creativity! First, you’ll paint a vibrant base layer onto your tumbler using underglazes. Then, you’ll carve intricate designs through the color, filling them with contrasting underglaze for a striking effect. This fun and approachable technique allows you to create bold, high-contrast patterns with depth and personality—perfect for both beginners and experienced artists!

What You’ll Do:

  • Start with a pre-thrown tumbler—no wheel work required!

  • Paint a colorful base layer using underglazes

  • Carve your design into the surface

  • Inlay contrasting underglazes for a striking Mishima-style effect

  • Relax & create while the instructor handles the final glazing and firing

Your finished tumbler will be food-safe and functional, ready to brighten up your morning routine! You’ll be notified when it’s ready for pickup.

Additional Information:

  • No experience needed! This class is perfect for beginners and creatives of all backgrounds.

  • All materials provided—just bring your ideas!

  • Wear comfortable clothing—pottery can be a little messy!
