With so many galleries, art shops and working artists in this region, there can be a lot to see. Now, with New Artists 2015, you can add one more exhibit to the list. The annual show showcases a vibrant array of works from area high school students. The depth of thought in the pieces as well as the overall variety illuminate the fertile ideas and creativity of these up-and-coming young artists.
The work in the exhibit, which is sponsored by Tri Kappa, was chosen by teachers, then juried and awarded prizes. The show runs through April 25. (Open daily 11 a.m.-4 p.m at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, 102 S. 10th St. Free.)
Watch local potters whip up bowls, and give it a try yourself, at the Bowl-A-Thon, presented by the Greater Lafayette Clay Guild. Guests working beside the potters include State Rep. Sheila Klinker. The bowls are for the 2015 YWCA Bowl Giving Project, which helps the YWCA's Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program. (1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, 102 S. 10th St. Free.)
Hours: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. daily
