About This Class:

Live model open studio is a non-instructional atmosphere every Monday, 9:30am ~ 12:30pm at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette.  We welcome professional and non-professional artists to come and develop their skills by interpretation of the human form through drawing and painting.

Sessions will be coordinated by museum staff member, LaDonna Vohar and each will begin with several short poses for artist warm up, followed by longer poses.  Models will be unclothed, with scheduled breaks.

The model studio is in the newly remodeled Manya Fan Art Education Center on the ground level of the Art Museum.  Studio B was specifically designed for figure study with multiple-source dim-able lighting, controlled heating and air conditioning, a large wash-up sink, watercolor drying rack and an exhaust fan.  Equipment includes a mobile model stand, work horses and easels.  You may work in charcoal, pencil, pastel, watercolor, oil (odorless thinners only, please), etc. Photography is not allowed.

A four week option is available for $30.   The single-session drop-in fee is $10.00 to be paid at the beginning of the session.   Artists under the age of 18 must submit a permission letter from a parent or guardian.
