Do you love music? Art? Friday night on the town? Now you can have it all on three Fridays this fall at our own art museum.
The entertainment runs 7-8 p.m. and it's all FREE. Here's the fall lineup:
Sept. 30: Brazilian Kaleidoscope: Local favorite and international artist Sabrina Lastman will sing music that brings together jazz, South American and contemporary styles. She will be accompanied by Jamie Newman (keyboard); Scott Pazera (double bass); and Art Reiner (drums & percussion). They will feature Brazilian music by composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Hermeto Pascoal, Chico Buarque, Egberto Gismonti, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Oct. 28: Never Frame a Picture for Something It Didn't Do: The Danny Weiss/Don Seybold Jazz and Poetry Project will feature improvisation and spontaneous exchange between the poet and the musicians.
Nov. 18: Painting the Inspiration: The Intersection Between Eyes and Ears will feature songwriters Rena Brouwer and Joe Peters. For their performance art, Peters writes songs inspired by one of Brouwer’s paintings and she paints inspired by his songs.
