The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette will host a talk by international artist Melissa Resch from noon to 1:00 p.m. July 28. The talk is free and open to the public.
Melissa's presentation, “Painting My Journey,” will share photos of her work and career, which began in Boston during the 1990s and took her around the globe before bringing her back to her childhood hometown of Lafayette. Melissa has returned to Lafayette for six months as a visiting artist in the museum.
Melissa studied painting at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston where she received her BFA in 1999 and again at the University of Tasmania in Australia where she received her MCA in 2008. She has also been an artist-in-residence in two historic museums in Western Australia. As a visiting artist for the Lafayette museum, she also has been working in the pottery studio with Jane and Jeff Boswell this summer.
While in Lafayette, Melissa also will have an art opening the evening of July 28 at Art of Framing, located at 2505 S. Earl Ave.
